Kelly Chervon
Owner

With over 20 years of professional baking and decorating experience, I began Chervon Cakes and Cookies in August of 2019.

My love of baking came long before pursuing it professionally though.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I began baking at a very young age, always helping my mom in the kitchen whenever I could.  Christmas was always my favorite time of year when my mom would always make a huge variety of cookies for Christmas!  She would show me all her tips and tricks.

Upon graduating High school I decided to attend Culinary school and graduated with an Associates in Pastry

Arts.  I always have had a love for the sunshine state and would visit whenever i could, so it was no decision at all when it came time to choose where to go for my externship.  I excepted a position at the the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida where I continued to learn so much and gain work experience in pastries.  When I returned home to Pittsburgh, I worked at several bakeries; Allentown Bakery, Priory Fine Pastries and Buttermaid Bakery before accepting a Bakery Manager position at Giant Eagle Supermarket. I worked for Giant Eagle for 8 years before making the difficult decision of leaving my job and moving to Florida where I always wanted to live.  I moved to the Tampa area in July 2014.  I worked at Publix Supermarket for a little over 4 years before excepting a job at Wrights Gourmet House in Tampa.  Little did i know, I would find a huge support system within Wrights coming from a surprising place.  When I spoke with the owner, Jeff Mount of Wrights Gourmet House, I found amazing support and a great mentor within him.  He encouraged me to continue to pursue my dream of owning my own cake and cookie shop with the utmost support.

Launching Chervon Cakes and Cookies has been a amazing feeling of getting to bring my love and passion of baking and decorating to all of my customers.

Thank You for supporting my dream!

I started the business out of my home under cottage food and quickly with all of your support, within a year had grown my business and expanded to working from a commercial kitchen.  This allowed me to expand my business without as much overhead of owning a store front but to a fully be licensed and insured business with the much needed space for growth!

My long term goal has always been to have my own brick and mortar location and I'm still working toward that goal today!

There have been so many people in my baking/cake decorating journey that have inspired me and hope to be that for others as well!  My goal is for the store front to be a full service bakery as well as sell a variety of baking supplies.

I believe everyone should have the access to quality supplies to bake and decorate with and you should never have to compromise quality no matter where you are in your baking journey!
